The homeowners liked the open plan and high ceilings of the living area, but felt the original 1980’s kitchen and breakfast areas with lower ceilings were outdated, isolated and closed off. Their desire was to incorporate the living, dining, kitchen & breakfast space into one cohesive design with an open flow. We solved their issues by removing walls at the kitchen and breakfast areas, sloping the ceilings of the same areas to match the existing pitch, raising the floor in the living room and installing hardwood floors throughout.
